I confess, we didn’t notice until after we ordered it that this dish is not the same as the one included in the prix fixe menu. They are similar, but this one has a pour of aged balsamic vinegar where the prix fixe version comes with a small bed of arugula instead. The mozzarella was soft and creamy, easy to portion out and pile onto the tomato to get a complete bite. Palo graces several Disney Cruise Line ships, each offering its unique touch to the dining experience. You can find Palo on Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy.

Its all-you-can-eat brunch and prix fixe dinner each cost $50 (before drinks and gratuities). You may recall, back in April, the cruise line announced a price increase at Palo the adult only restaurants aboard the ships. Palo experiences were increased $5 with the price increase effective as soon as the ships resume sailing.

Hello, I'm Alison a Disney Cruise and Travel Blogger with over 40 cruises and more than 30 years of Disney travel experience. I share tips, reviews and videos so that you can have the best Disney travel experience. I don’t want to miss that experience or spend time away from the servers. Your server will bring the selection around for you to choose what you want.

This ensures that you’ll have the full experience of your initial dining rotation (it’s our understanding that the Animator’s Palate show only occurs the first time you dine there). If you’re going on a short cruise, book it on a night when the Pirates party is not occurring. When we got on-board and received our dining rotation card, we noticed that we were assigned Animator’s Palate on our Palo night.

If you are traveling with kids, you will need to make sure they are happy in the kids’ club (or are otherwise occupied) during brunch time. A splurge like this should be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, so if you are in a rush or are worried about your kids, brunch at Palo may not be worth it. In addition to dinner, Palo also offers a separate brunch, which is the more affordable option of the two adult-only dining venues, and the food is delicious while the ambiance is elegant. First things first, I have typically received a complimentary glass of sparkling wine at brunch and a post-meal sip of lemoncello at dinner. If that’s all you want in the way of alcohol at your meal, then you won’t have any additional fees. Although you can link the reservations of several staterooms, each stateroom can only make adult dining reservations according the highest Castaway Club level of someone booked into that room.

On four-night or longer sailings, Remy also offers brunch and a dessert event, which are $80 and $65, respectively. Brunch at Remy is prix fixe with dishes like lobster cannelloni and sea bass, plus a glass of Champagne and a dessert. Those with a sweet tooth will want to try the dessert service where a five-course dessert menu is served with coffee.
Yes, reservations are highlight recommended for all of the adults-only specialty restaurants fleetwide. Reservations can be made online as early as 123 days prior to your embarkation day, depending on your level within Disney's loyalty program called Castaway Club. Brunch starts with a glass of prosecco or a mimosa, then your choice of antipasti plates. I suggest taking a few people with you to brunch so you can try a few of the dishes on the menu, though one not to miss is the chicken Parmesan that's served with risotto. Another favorite is the lasagna, which is the perfect size for everyone to get a few bites before moving on to something else.

Silver Castaway Club members (completed at least 1 DCL sailing) may make reservations 90 days in advance. New DCL cruisers may make reservations 75 days in advance. The size of the dining rooms is a bit different on the smaller ships (Magic/Wonder) than the larger ships (Dream/Fantasy). And there are some decor elements that vary slightly, but for the most part Palo is identical on all four of the current Disney Cruise Line ships. The menus are the same and the service is fabulous throughout the line. Ninety minutes, a decadent bread basket, five ordered plates and a dessert later, it was time to rejoin my kids.

I said goodbye (for now) to this special experience on the ship with two certain truths. And second, I had certainly gotten more than $50 worth out of this meal. The parmesan-crusted chicken breast with its tomato-basil sauce and mozzarella cheese was unlawfully flavorful and delicious and also worth sampling no matter the time of day. Would you be surprised if I told you one of my favorite fancy meals on earth is only $50 per person?
The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms named after Walt and his brother Roy, though both serve the same menu, which celebrates California cuisine. My favorite dishes include the seared tuna appetizer, grilled filet entree and the churros with caramel dipping sauce. This is a great spot for a steakhouse date night, too, so if you have kids, drop them off in the kids club and enjoy a meal to yourself without having to pay extra for Palo Steakhouse. Additional items beyond the prix fixe menu may be added at an additional charge.
On some sailings, there are additional performance of the main shows during the afternoon. Or you might not care about missing a random ventriloquist that happens to be performing. The days that you can book Palo will be noted on the DCL website in the “My Plans” section, after you’ve paid in full and are at your Castaway Club booking date. I slightly prefer dinner, but everyone else in my family is head over heals for brunch. I have no idea why I order any thing from the menu because I could go back to the buffet half a dozen times and still find more yumminess to sample.
There is also a dress code; men need dress pants or slacks and a collared shirt, women need a dress, or skirt or pants with a blouse. Jeans can also be worn if they are in good condition, but flip-flops and tennis shoes are not permitted. Finally, we ended things off with the Buttermilk Panna Cotta Pot. This had strawberry popping pearls and pistachio crumble. We have to give a lot of points to this dessert on presentation alone. The bright colors and chocolate details on top made it very visually appealing.
It had a has a sharp, complex fruity/nutty taste together with a strong savory flavor and was smooth. This lovely mouthful was a complex little creamy mushroom soup. The toasted gnocchi was perfect, a small bite that wasn’t excessively doughy as gnocchi can be sometimes. It was so light that it actually would have been easy to mistake for a crouton if you weren’t paying attention. It was a wonderful choice after having such a heavy meal. It tasted so fresh and the popping pearls provided a fun sensory experience.
With Disney Palo Brunch there will be either sparkling wine or a Mimosa included in the cost. In my experience, there is a pretty wide range of interpretations of this Palo dress code, but most people are dressed in what would be described as “smart casual”. Make sure that you go to the designated location as soon as you get on board to make the reservations that you want. Quite often when you try and book Palo online you will be told that there are no reservations available.
The price increase was to $45 for both Palo Brunch and Dinner. As you would expect, guests at Palo Dinner tend to be more formally dressed than at Palo Brunch. However, Disney does still ask that you follow a more dress code in Palo, albeit a pretty relaxed one. You can make one Palo Brunch and one Palo Dinner reservation online prior to your cruise. Here we will look at the Palo Brunch and Dinner menus and pictures to help you decide which is the best dining option for you. Additionally, Platinum- and Pearl-level Castaway Club members get one free dinner at Palo Steakhouse per sailing to share with everyone in their cabin.
Brunch at Palo is one of my favorite things to do on Disney Cruise Line, and the meal service is offered on all ships on most sea days. If you don't have a sea day on your itinerary, brunch might be served on a port day. On a recent cruise, I made a reservation for brunch at Palo when the ship was docked in Nassau, Bahamas.
